The Philippine Society of Gastroenterology (PSG) scientific committee in coordination with the Ilocos Sur Medical Society organized a Post Graduate Course on July 27, 2019 at Hotel Lapira in Vigan, Ilocos Sur. Themed “Common GI and Liver Diseases In Everyday Practice”, the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) activity was attended by 72 primary care physicians. The lectures focused on common gastrointestinal diseases and conditions such as GERD, PUD, Hepatitis B, Diarrhea and Elevated Liver Enzymes. The Post Graduate Course also highlighted the PSG’s advocacy on Colorectal Cancer Awareness and discussed the efforts of the National Government and PSG in creating a national screening program to PREVENT, TREAT & BEAT Colorectal Cancer in the Philippines.
As part of the ongoing amendment of the PSG constitution, the committee reviewed its own bylaws and Implementing Rules and Regulations. The committee made proposed amendments and presented these to the Board for comments and approval prior to final presentation to PSG members.
