The Philippine Digestive Health Week and Joint Annual Convention (PDHW-JAC) will be changing venue for 2019. Next year’s annual convention will be held at the Philippine International Convention Center in Manila on February 20-21 to coincide with the 2019 Asia Pacific Association for the Study of the Liver (APASL) Manila Conference slated for February 21 to 24. The decision to move the annual convention to the PICC in February is a show of support to APASL President Prof. Diana Payawal, who is organizing the Manila APASL conference. This will enable more members particularly those from the provinces to attend both meetings.
The Scientific Committee headed by Dr Allan Policarpio has prepared very interesting topics to highlight the theme “Gastroenterology in the Era of Multidiscplinary Medicine”. The symposia during the two day convention will feature critical multi-specialty discussions on challenging clinical conditions involving the esophagus, stomach, pancreas and the biliary tract, small and large intestines as well as nutrition. Day 1 will feature gastroenterology topics while Day 2 will deal mostly on endoscopy. The Gonzalo Austria Lecture will be delivered by Health Secretary Francisco Duque III while the Francisco Roman Lecture will be delivered by Prof. Khean Lee Go of Malaysia. New to the upcoming convention is a session on “The Best of Philippine Endoscopy” which will feature the best endoscopy cases from past PSDE endoscopy workshops.
Registration is FREE for all active members, Life Fellows, Fellows Emeritus, Fellows in Training and Government Physicians. Non-members and inactive members will be charged P3,500.00 and P2,500.00, respectively. PRC, PCP, PMA, and PAFP CPD/CME credits application is being processed.
