Apply for the Int’l Young Endoscopist Awards (IYEA) 2020

On behalf of the International Digestive Endoscopy Network (IDEN), we would like to invite young, enthusiastic endoscopists from all around the world to apply for the International Young Endoscopist Awards (IYEA) 2020 program,
which will be held between June 1 and June 13, 2020, in Korea.

The IYEA program is intended to promote technical advancement and collaboration among international societies of GI endoscopy. This program has been held annually for young doctors in Asia from 2014 to 2019, and around 200 young endoscopists have participated in the AYEA (Asia Young Endoscopist Awards) program so far. From 2020, it will be expanded worldwide under the name of IYEA (International Young Endoscopist Awards). We encourage all young endoscopists from across the world beyond Asia to take this opportunity and participate in this program!

Schedule (2 weeks)
 June 1-10, 2020 - Training and site visit at each select training center
 June 11, 2020 - Participation in Young Endoscopist Forum at Dragon City Hotel, Seoul
 June 12-13, 2020 - Participation in IDEN 2020 Conference at Dragon City Hotel, Seoul
 June 14, 2020 - Hands-on Course at Olympus K-TEC, Incheon

Description
IYEA provides partial financial support to endoscopists outside Korea to receive clinical training in GI endoscopy at select endoscopic training centers in Korea to promote advancement and collaboration among training centers.

Purpose
To provide partial funding for endoscopic training so that endoscopists can acquire new knowledge and technical skills in GI endoscopy, which in turn is expected to improve patient care at the applicants’ region.

Eligibility
Young physicians working in GI endoscopy not residing in Korea under 40 years of age are eligible to apply. All applicants must be able to communicate effectively in English. Please note that those who have already participated in
the AYEA program before cannot re-apply.

    (The amount of the travel grant varies depending on the country and continent)
2. Receive outstanding endoscopy training at select centers in Korea
3. Free registration for the Young Endoscopist Forum and IDEN 2020
4. Free opportunity to attend the hands-on course on June 14

Compulsory Duties
1. Oral and poster presentation (topics related to GI endoscopy) during the Young Endoscopist Forum
2. Abstract submission
    The accepted abstracts will be presented at both the Young Endoscopist Forum and IDEN 2020
3. IDEN 2020 registration; registration fees will be refunded on site
4. Applying and obtaining IDEN membership
5. Sincere educational attitude at the training center
6. Submission of evaluation sheets after training

Deadlines
 Deadline for application form submission: February 28, 2020
 Notification of acceptance: after March 25, 2020
 Abstract submission deadline: April 22, 2020
